Nestled in the heart of Gatlinburg, Tennessee, Crockett's Breakfast Camp is a beloved breakfast restaurant that perfectly captures the spirit of Southern hospitality with its hearty mountain-style cuisine. Known for generous portions and a welcoming, rustic atmosphere, this spot is a must-visit for anyone craving a true taste of the Smokies first thing in the morning.
Step inside, and you’re greeted by an inviting cabin-inspired décor filled with charming local touches that instantly transport you to a cozy mountain lodge. The menu reads like a breakfast lover’s dream, featuring crowd-pleasers such as the Black Bear Skillet, piled high with savory sausage, eggs, and potatoes, and the famous Pot Roast Benedict, a creative twist on a classic that perfectly balances rich flavors with fresh ingredients.
Crockett's is perhaps best known for its indulgent, eye-catching Cinnamon Rolls — some nearly the size of your face — that boast a soft, tender interior soaked in just the right amount of cinnamon and topped with a creamy, generous icing. Diners rave about the Giant Cinnamon Rolls and the unique Cinnamon Roll Pancakes, which bring sweetness and spice together in an utterly irresistible way.
If you prefer more traditional options, you can’t go wrong with the BIG TENNESSEE FRENCH TOAST — thick slices of freshly baked English toasting bread, dipped in a luscious egg custard infused with cinnamon and vanilla, served with warm maple syrup and whipped butter that melts into every bite. The Biscuits and Gravy here are a Southern staple; fluffy biscuits paired with savory, creamy gravy that’s comfort food at its finest.
For those looking for something a little different, the Scramblers stand out on the menu. Try the Splinter Maples Scrambler featuring three farm fresh eggs mixed with crisp red peppers, green onions, melted cheddar jack cheese, and grilled portabella mushrooms — an earthy and flavorful combination served alongside Cherokee Sweet Corn Pone that adds a unique regional twist.
Amidst all this richness, visitors appreciate the attentive and friendly service, even during the busiest times when the restaurant hums with energy and the wait can climb close to two hours. This is a testament to the team’s dedication to ensuring every guest feels valued and leaves fully satisfied. Parking can be challenging given the restaurant’s prime location on the Parkway, but many agree that the vibrant ambiance and delicious, generously sized breakfasts more than make up for the minor inconvenience.
Whether you arrive early on a quiet weekday or brave the lively weekend rush, Crockett's Breakfast Camp promises an authentic and unforgettable start to your Gatlinburg mornings. From the moment your plate arrives, bursting with decadent, mouthwatering flavors and comforting aromas, you’ll understand why this mountain gem is hailed as one of the best breakfasts in the area.
This place is not just touristy, it also serves great food. The thick fluffy pancakes are also somehow flavorful, especially with blueberry and whipped cream on top, and the cinnamon roll was the best I've ever had. It was the size of my face, and so great that I ate it all. Soft, warm, perfectly cinnamony, and swimming in icing. I got in with no wait early on a weekday in December, and had no trouble finding free parking on River Rd, but even if there is a wait this place is worth it.
The BEST breakfast we had while in Gatlinburg! However, it is extremely busy, with looong waiting times being right on the main strip. We had to wait 1 hour and 45 minutes to get seated however once seated the service is fast and the food is so worth it and filling! You won’t leave hungry that’s for sure! The staff, for being so crowded and busy were still very pleasant, efficient and always had a smile on their faces. Breakfast was soo DELICIOUS!!
This place is a MUST STOP! Definitely worth the wait if there is one. We came on a weekday, parking is quite limited- looks like they have a few spots of their own. We just found street parking and walked a short distance. The atmosphere is adorable- lots of cool details throughout the restaurant. The menus are a newspaper format. We were seated quickly. Our waitress was very attentive and sweet. Our food came out rather quickly and boy was it delicious! 10/10! They even sell some of their own merch.
Stopped in for breakfast and really enjoyed the atmosphere. Portions were good and the food was tasty, I had the corn beef hash Benedict and it hit the spot. Service was friendly and kept things moving, even with the crowd. A solid way to start the morning in Gatlinburg
My wife and I visited in mid-September, and really enjoyed our visit. Before I get to the review proper, I think we should have a bit of a caution regarding parking. For the entire restaurant, there are six parking spaces plus a single handicap parking space. If you show up when you are hungry, those spaces will be filled. And that means that you need to park across the street for $20/day (no hourly rate, no validated parking). Of course, this is pretty standard for Gatlinburg, because it's a tourist town, so why not? But that means that unless you are staying at the Day's Inn next door, you need to budget for an additional $20 above the cost of your meal ($48 + tip for the two of us). OK. On with the review proper. We got there at pretty much prime lunch time, so had several minutes of wait to be seated. The theme / interior of the restaurant is nicely in line with the log cabin / breakfast camp idea. Our server was great. We had the Crocket's Buckwheat Fruit & Nut Pancakes and Thick Aretha Frankenstein's Pancakes (with Blackberry Compote). Both were delicious. I really enjoyed the Aretha's as their thickness made them out of the ordinary. My side order of Corned Beef Hash was among the better CB Hash I've had. I also ordered a side of Cherokee Sweet Corn Pone. I don't recall ever before having Corn Pone. I really liked it, and will be both looking for it on menus in the future and also looking for a good recipe to try making it myself. Since I mentioned the meal price above, I need to also mention that we had a side order of quite tasty Pecan Smoked Bacon, one Coffee and one Iced Tea. So, to sum up, a really good breakfast spot, but when considering the cost of parking, it becomes a quite pricy meal.
This place is definitely worth the wait. By far one if not the best breakfast I've ever eaten. Pancakes are a must even if your not a fan as I normally would not eat one. But these are absolutely amazing. The cinnamon rolls we got 2 so we all shared, absolutely delicious. The omelet was made to perfection This place is a MUST! Even if your not staying in Gatlinburg go there for breakfast cuz you won't be disappointed. Great all around over all in every area. 10 outta 10
Overall a wonderful experience. The atmosphere stays true to their rustic old-time vibe. The staff and food was exceptionally good. Our waitress was super friendly, very attentive, and always on top of things for all our tables. The food was delicious and not overwhelming! This was the first time I ordered a giant cinnamon roll from a restaurant and it wasn't overbearing to eat. The icing wasn't overly sweet and the roll was extremely fluffy. I ordered the Old fashioned Candied Apple Waffle and it was just the right size for me! Highly recommend for anyone who is new to the area or is looking for a unique breakfast experience for your family.
